Arizona is suing TikTok over allegations that the app was engineered to addict children and teens while concealing mental health harms. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes said the lawsuit accuses TikTok and parent company ByteDance of using engagement features to retain minors and profit from minors' data. The complaint alleges that TikTok knowingly allows children under 13 on the app despite publicly claiming to bar those children. A TikTok spokesperson denied the allegations and said the company will vigorously defend against the claims, KJZZ reported.
