Ethereum isnโ€™t giving altcoin bulls much confidence right now.

While Bitcoin continues fighting around major levels, ETH has struggled to show the kind of strength traders usually want to see before taking bigger risks across the altcoin market.

And that matters more than many people think.

Ethereum is still one of the biggest indicators of appetite for risk outside Bitcoin. When ETH starts outperforming and attracting liquidity, confidence can quickly spread into other large caps and eventually smaller altcoins.

Right now, that rotation isnโ€™t convincing.

Many altcoins remain under pressure, rallies are getting sold quickly, and traders are becoming increasingly selective about where they put their money.

But this is exactly why Iโ€™m watching ETH closely.

If Ethereum suddenly reclaims important resistance and begins outperforming BTC, the market narrative could change surprisingly fast. Traders who are currently sitting defensively could start looking for opportunities further down the risk curve.

That doesnโ€™t mean every altcoin would pump.

The next rotation could be highly selective. Strong narratives and coins already showing relative strength may attract liquidity first, while weaker projects continue struggling.

On the other hand, if ETH remains weak while Bitcoin starts losing support, altcoins could face even more pressure.

So before calling for a huge altseason, I want to see Ethereum wake up.

BTC can keep the market alive, but a strong ETH move could be what finally makes altcoins interesting again.
