Victims were encouraged to bring in more participants for bigger returns, while withdrawals were later frozen. Binance News says roughly 10,000 people may have participated, with average investments near €800.
Police arrested 17 suspects, while another 9 people were named in the case file. Authorities also seized hundreds of thousands of euros in cash and other evidence.
