The Ethereum Foundation and Open Anonymity Project have launched zkAPI, allowing users to prepay with ETH or USDC and access AI or other metered APIs using zero-knowledge proofs.
Providers can verify that a request was paid for without directly linking each API request to the wallet that funded it. The protocol builds on a design co-authored by Vitalik Buterin.
