Both let you spend money with Visa/Mastercard. The big difference is what funds them.
**Bank Debit Card**
Linked to your bank account (fiat).
Money is deducted directly.
Pros: Deposit insurance, strong chargeback protection, stable value, simple taxes.
Cons: Higher FX fees (often 1-3%), low or no rewards, needs a bank account.
**Crypto Debit Card**
Funded by crypto or stablecoins. Converts to fiat at the moment you pay.
Pros: Spend crypto without selling first, often lower/zero FX fees, higher cashback (paid in crypto), fast virtual card setup, no traditional bank needed.
Cons: No deposit insurance, possible conversion fees, volatility (unless using stablecoins), tax events on conversion in many countries, custodial risk.
**Quick verdict**
- Hold mostly fiat and want safety → Bank debit card
- Hold crypto/stablecoins and want easy spending + better rewards/FX → Crypto debit card
