Binance is delisting the USDT/UAH spot pair today. Trading stops at 09:00 UTC+2. Deposits and withdrawals via Fiat Trade UAH are also shutting down.

This isn't a crypto event. It's a regulatory one. Binance is winding down direct Ukrainian hryvnia support. Any remaining UAH balances will be automatically converted to USDT by September 30 at a fixed rate of 1 USDT = 46.5 UAH.

Why this matters beyond Ukraine: this is the second fiat off-ramp Binance has closed in recent weeks. Earlier this month, it suspended US stock trading for a system upgrade. Now it's pulling back from UAH.

Exchange fiat rails are not permanent. When regulatory conditions change, access can disappear. For traders in affected regions, that means fewer on-ramps and off-ramps — and more reliance on P2P or stablecoin transfers.

What I'm watching: does this become a pattern? Binance has been tightening compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Each delisting tells you something about where the regulatory pressure is coming from.
