Your memory is not a trading journal. It edits out the details. 🧠
After a loss, you remember “bad entry.”
After a win, you remember “good call.”
Neither tells you what to repeat.
A journal turns each trade into usable feedback.
Keep it simple. For every planned trade, log:
• Setup: breakout, pullback, range, etc.
• Entry, stop, target, and position risk
• Why you entered
• Screenshot before and after
• Result—and whether you followed your rules
Example: You take three breakout trades. Two fail after weak volume, while the one winner came after a clean retest.
The lesson may not be “stop trading breakouts.”
It may be: “My breakout setup needs a retest and participation.”
That is how a journal improves decisions without changing your strategy every week. 📓
Practical rule: review 10–20 trades at a time. Look for repeated mistakes, not one emotional result.
A losing trade can be good if you followed the plan.
A winning trade can be bad if you broke it.
Don’t journal to judge yourself. Journal to find patterns. 🎯
What’s one detail you rarely record but probably should? 👇
