UK Crypto Regulation Moves Closer as FCA Defines Activities Requiring Authorization
The UK is moving closer to a more formal crypto market as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) sets out which digital-asset activities will require authorization under the country’s new regulatory regime.
The FCA published its final perimeter guidance on September 16, giving crypto businesses a clearer picture of the activities that will fall under its supervision. The new regime will take effect on October 25, 2027, while firms can begin applying for authorization from September 30, 2026.
