To open a Binance account in the British Virgin Islands, check that your residence is supported, choose a personal or entity account, and register through Binance’s official website or app. For email or phone registration, verify the code before creating a password, then complete identity verification and secure your account.
Check BVI Eligibility Before You Register
Confirm that Binance accepts your actual British Virgin Islands residence under its current onboarding rules. Account approval and access to individual products or payment services depend on the checks and terms applicable to you.
The British Virgin Islands, United States Virgin Islands and United Kingdom are separate jurisdictions. Select where you genuinely live. Owning a BVI company does not make the BVI your personal country of residence.
If your residence is unavailable, contact official support before continuing. Do not choose another jurisdiction or disguise your location. Account acceptance is also separate from local regulatory authorization; review the provider and terms for the services you intend to use.
Binance BVI Account Opening Requirements
Before starting, prepare:
Age and legal capacity: Standard personal-account applicants must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into binding contracts.
Email or phone: Use contact details you control and can access during registration.
Proof of identity: Have a valid identity document accepted in your verification flow.
Residential details: Provide your genuine home address and accurate personal information.
Proof of address: Prepare it if requested, following the document types and validity period shown for your application.
Camera access: Use a device that can capture document images and complete the identity checks.
Choose a personal account for yourself or an entity account for a company. Binance’s registration guidance states that you cannot change the account type after registration.
Already have a Binance account? Sign in to that account and update your details when needed. Moving to the BVI does not mean you should register again.
How to Register a Personal Binance Account
1. Open the Official Website or App
Enter binance.com directly and select Sign Up. The official registration page is hosted on accounts.binance.com; check the hostname before entering personal information.
On mobile, obtain the app through the download section of Binance’s official website, then open it and tap Sign Up. A familiar logo or a search advertisement is not enough to establish that a page or app is authentic.
2. Choose Your Registration Method
Binance offers email or phone, Google, Apple and Telegram registration. Select a method shown in your interface and use an account you control.
For phone registration, follow the country-code selector’s formatting instructions. Your phone number’s country code and your country of residence are separate details.
Read the terms and privacy information before continuing. With Google, Apple or Telegram, follow the provider’s authorization prompts and select the correct account. Telegram may ask whether you want to create a new Binance account or link an existing one.
3. Verify the Code, Then Create a Password
For email or phone registration, enter the six-digit verification code within 30 minutes, or follow the expiry time shown in your session. Complete this step before creating your password.
Use a unique password with at least eight characters, one uppercase letter and one number. A longer password is preferable to using only the minimum.
Registration through a linked provider can follow a different sequence. Complete the contact-verification and security prompts presented for that method.
4. Complete Identity Verification
Binance requires new users to complete the Verified level to access services including crypto deposits and trading. Creating login credentials alone does not complete this requirement.
On the website, open Account → Identification. In the app, tap Verify Now or open the account center’s verification option.
Enter your residence, document-issuing country or region, and document type in their separate fields. Submit the requested document images, complete the liveness check and review your personal details before confirming them.
For example, someone living in Tortola with a passport issued elsewhere should enter their actual BVI residence and the passport’s issuing country in the appropriate fields. Those answers need not match. A company’s registered-agent address is not automatically your home address.
Follow the document requirements shown for your application. Wait for the result in your account or email, and check for additional requests. Review times vary; use the estimate shown for your application rather than assuming immediate approval.
5. 🔐 Secure Your Account
Set up the security options available in your account, such as an authenticator or passkey. A passkey authenticates you; keep track of your registered email, phone number or linked sign-in method as well.
Protect the email or provider account used to register, and keep recovery information accessible if you lose your phone. Never share passwords or verification codes with anyone offering to activate your account.
If using QR login, approve only a session you initiated and recognize. Submit identity documents through the official verification process.
Opening a Binance Account for a BVI Company
For an account owned by a company, choose Sign up as an entity. Enter its legal name and entity email, verify the email, create a password and proceed to corporate verification.
Binance generates the required document checklist from the company’s jurisdiction, legal form, business activity and ownership structure. Prepare the company records and information about directors, ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs), significant controllers and the main account holder.
Relevant individuals may need identity documents and residential evidence. The main trader must complete a liveness check. Use accurate registered-office and operating-address details, and provide the requested information about funding and intended account activity. An authorized director must agree to the required declaration.
A BVI incorporation certificate does not replace these checks. Corporate verification and fiat-service approval are separate. To request fiat access, use Profile → Account → Identification and review the currencies and payment channels available to that entity.
Fix Common Registration and Verification Problems
Email or phone already registered: Use the existing account’s login or recovery process. Check whether you previously registered through Google, Apple or Telegram.
Verification code missing: Check the email address and spam folder, or the phone number and selected country code. Request another code when the resend option becomes available.
Identity document rejected: Read the stated reason. Correct the specific issue, such as an unclear image or an unsupported document type, before resubmitting.
Verification still pending: Check your account and email for requests for more information. Avoid repeatedly restarting the application without instructions.
Residence unavailable or access restricted: Contact support through the official website or app. Provide the error message and your actual circumstances; do not attempt to bypass the restriction.
When sharing screenshots with support, remove verification codes and unrelated personal information.
💵 Before Your First Deposit
After verification, check which deposit and withdrawal methods your account actually supports. Confirm the currency, bank eligibility, account-name requirements, minimum amount and total cost before transferring money.
The BVI’s use of US dollars does not automatically give you access to US domestic banking channels or Binance.US. Check that the offered payment method accepts transfers from your bank.
