Yemen's Houthi movement said it launched a large-scale, multi-front military operation on September 3 aimed at driving Saudi forces out of parts of the western coast. According to Odaily, the group said the operation drove Saudi forces out of six areas in Taiz and Hodeidah provinces covering 5,400 square kilometers, targeted seven military formations involving 38 brigades, freed detainees held for years by Saudi-backed mercenaries, carried out 32 interceptions of Saudi warplanes, and shot down nine aircraft.

The group also said maritime navigation is safe for all companies except Saudi vessels. It added that it would continue its policy of "blockade for blockade" and keep targeting Saudi forces until what it called the aggression ends and the blockade is lifted.
