🏦 Jack Dorsey’s Block Wants a Bank - Just Not a Traditional One Block already holds 9,117 $BTC and processed around $10.7B in Bitcoin volume last year. Now the company behind Cash App and Square wants to put more of its crypto business under one federal framework. 🔎 This week, Block applied to the OCC to create Builders Bank & Trust - an uninsured national trust bank focused on custody and related services for Bitcoin, stablecoins and other digital assets. It wouldn’t take deposits or issue loans like a regular bank. Why do it? Block currently runs digital-asset services through 50+ state money transmitter and virtual-currency licenses. So the proposed bank would be less about branches and lending, and more about: ✅ crypto custody ✅ stablecoin settlement ✅ executing digital-asset transactions And Block isn’t starting from zero: besides its $BTC treasury, Cash App already serves around 2M monthly crypto users. An interesting next step for a company that started with a small card reader... #Macro Insights# #BTC Price Analysis#
