U.S. July Core PCE remained at 3.3% YoY for the third consecutive month, while monthly Core PCE rose 0.2%.

Headline PCE is still around 3.7%, compared with the Fed’s 2% inflation target.

The data doesn’t show a major deterioration, but it also doesn’t provide much evidence that underlying inflation is cooling quickly.

That leaves markets weighing the same question: how long will rates need to stay restrictive?
The dollar is one of the key markets to watch, while equities, BTC and bonds could also react as expectations shift.

From an observer’s perspective, the important part now is less about the headline number and more about how markets respond to sticky inflation.
