DUSK — THE REAL VALUE OF PRIVACY

The more I look into Dusk, the more I think privacy isn't about hiding everything.

It's about controlling who gets to see what.

Imagine a bank moving sensitive financial data onchain.

Customer balances, transaction history, portfolio positions or settlement details shouldn't necessarily be visible to every person watching the blockchain.

But the bank may still need to prove something to a regulator.

That's where Dusk's idea of privacy + selective disclosure becomes interesting.

A bank could keep sensitive information protected while still providing verifiable evidence to the people who actually need it.

The same idea could apply to tokenized shares, funds, lending or institutional trading.

And Dusk is building toward this with DuskDS for settlement, DuskEVM for EVM applications, and privacy-focused infrastructure such as Hedger.

But I wouldn't ignore the risks.

Privacy systems are technically difficult. ZK and encrypted computation need to scale. Compliance rules differ across countries. Smart contracts can fail. And institutional adoption still has to be proven.

One more important point: Phoenix is part of Dusk's transaction-model history, but the current privacy direction is broader than Phoenix alone.

For me, the interesting future isn't a blockchain where everything is private.

It's a blockchain where you control what becomes public, what stays confidential, and what can be verified.

If Dusk can make that practical for banks and financial markets, privacy could become less of a feature and more like basic infrastructure.

That's the part I'm watching.

Not financial advice. Manage risk.
