If the US genuinely starts signalling direct Bitcoin purchases, that changes the conversation fast. It is one thing for institutions and ETFs to accumulate $BTC . It is another thing entirely if governments start treating Bitcoin as a strategic asset. That kind of headline can shift sentiment before a single dollar is even deployed because markets will immediately start pricing in future demand. Could $80K happen this month? Definitely possible, but I would not base it on the headline alone. For that move to stick, I would want to see strong spot buying, ETF inflows improving, shorts getting squeezed and $BTC holding every breakout instead of giving it back. The biggest risk is everyone front running the story too aggressively, then getting disappointed if policy takes longer than expected. But if actual buying gets confirmed, the narrative becomes much bigger than just another BTC rally. At that point, the market starts asking which country is next.
