I’ll be real — I almost ignored the governance side of TermMax. Everyone gets caught up in staking, APRs, and fixed rates. That’s the flashy part. Risk parameters? They looked like the boring fine print. But then it hit me: TMX staking isn’t just about rewards. It’s about who sets the rules — collateral ratios, borrowing limits, liquidation thresholds. That’s the stuff that decides if the protocol survives a bad week, not just whether it looks good during a calm one.And here’s the messy truth:Loosen the parameters → more efficiency, more borrowing, bigger growth numbers… but you’re opening the door to bad debt if collateral tanks fast.Tighten them → safer system, but you choke off liquidity and make the markets less usable.
There’s no way to be both maximally safe and maximally efficient. Governance has to pick a side. And honestly, TermMax hasn’t been through a truly ugly market stretch yet, so we don’t know which way they lean when pressure hits.So my take: I’m not worried about whether TermMax can attract TVL. I’m watching whether TMX holders make the right calls when things get rough. That’s when lending protocols prove themselves — or don’t.Still keeping this one on my radar before calling it “solved.”
