I’ve always found the “everything should be public” idea in crypto a little strange.
Transparency is useful, sure. But imagine running a financial business where every position, transfer and relationship is permanently visible to everyone.
That’s where Dusk Network gets interesting to me.
Its approach to confidentiality feels less like adding a privacy switch and more like building the system around a simple question: what actually needs to be public?
With XSC, Dusk is thinking about financial assets and the rules around them — ownership, transfers, compliance and controlled access — without assuming that all of the underlying information has to sit in the open.
That distinction matters.
I’ve seen plenty of crypto projects talk about privacy after the infrastructure is already designed around transparency. Dusk seems to be making confidentiality part of the foundation instead.
And honestly, that feels closer to how real financial systems work.
Not everything is hidden.
Not everything is exposed.
The interesting part is deciding where the line should be.
