The SEC plans to advance two major crypto regulatory initiatives in the coming days, Bloomberg reported. The agency will hold an open meeting Friday to consider a tailored offering regime for certain investment contracts involving crypto assets and could unveil an “innovation exemption” for tokenized securities as soon as the same day. The exemption could pave the way for 24/7 blockchain-based trading of tokenized stocks, while allowing public companies to object to third parties tokenizing their shares and introducing tighter anti-money-laundering safeguards, potentially including a requirement that trading platforms be US entities.
