Ethereum at $2,236 has me genuinely torn, so here's the honest two-sided read instead of a confident call.
The bull case just got louder. Tom Lee is calling a bottom, and a whale opened a 25x long worth about $45 million — 20,277 ETH in a single bet. That's not a hedge, that's conviction. And the tape is quietly backing it up: nearly $300 million of longs got liquidated in the last 48 hours and ETH only slipped about 1%. Back in October, a flush the same size knocked it down 7%. Sellers are running out of follow-through.
But the flows tell the opposite story. ETH ETFs have now bled for five straight weeks, with $270 million out in November alone. And over a million ETH — $2.3 billion worth — is queued up to enter staking, which is supply looking for yield, not demand chasing price. ETH is still 55% below its all-time high and down 9.6% in the last month.
So this is how I'm playing the levels. $2,200 is the line. There's a big liquidation cluster sitting just under it, and if that breaks on a daily close, the sweep toward $2,000 is on the table — and my whole bottoming idea is wrong. Hold above it, and the whale starts looking like early money. On the upside, $2,500 is the first level that actually changes the picture — that's the 50-day average — and I won't chase a bounce into $2,400 without it. The 200-day at $2,156 is the last floor underneath.
My read: this is a bottoming process, not a bottom. I'm watching $2,200 like a hawk and staying patient until one side proves itself.
Not financial advice.
