Gold Under Pressure: Is the Dip a Warning or an Opportunity? 🪙
Gold is having a tough stretch. It has now posted a fourth straight monthly loss, with the price dipping as low as $4,061, mostly because markets are betting on tighter Fed policy.
**Why gold is pulling back**
- Traders price roughly an 80% chance of a December Fed rate hike, with higher oil prices feeding inflation worries.
- Higher rates make non-yielding assets like gold less attractive.
- A strong dollar adds more pressure.
**Why the bulls aren't leaving**
- A record 45% of surveyed central banks plan to add gold over the next 12 months, and that demand held even during the selloff.
- Geopolitical risk and "debasement" fears haven't gone away.
- Gold is still far above where it was a year ago. In late May it traded around $4,521, over $1,100 higher than a year earlier.
**What to watch**
1. The December Fed meeting and the dollar index
2. Inflation data (CPI/PCE) and oil prices
3. Further central bank buying news
**Trading gold on Binance**
You can get gold exposure through gold-backed tokens like PAXG and XAUT, or through gold futures. Use position sizing and stop-losses. Gold can be volatile too.
My view: the short-term trend is shaky, but central bank demand gives it strong support. Dips may interest long-term holders, but always manage risk.
