Imagine having $100 in your trading account. You open a Bitcoin trade, the market moves against you, and suddenly you lose $20. $ETH

Now you have only $80 left.

The biggest problem isn't just the loss. It's how much harder it becomes to recover your capital.

This is why I believe every beginner should understand the **1% risk management rule** before chasing profits.

🧠 What Is the 1% Rule?

The 1% rule means planning to risk no more than 1% of your total trading capital on a single trade.

For example:

Account balance. Maximum planned risk

$50 $0.50

$100 $1

$500 $5

$1,000 $10

$5,000 $50

Important: This is the amount you are willing to lose if your stop loss is triggered, not the total amount you should invest in the trade.

📊 How Does It Work?

Let's say you have a $100 account and want to trade $BTC .

- Account balance: $100

- Maximum risk: $1

- Entry price: $80,000

- Stop loss: $79,200

- Distance to stop loss: 1%

Your position size should be approximately $100, because a 1% price move against that position equals about $1 in losses, excluding fees and slippage.$BNB

This example shows why position sizing matters.

🚨 3 Mistakes Beginners Must Avoid

1. Risking too much on one trade

Using 10% or 20% of your account as risk can make a few losing trades extremely damaging.

2. Moving your stop loss because of emotions

If your trading idea is invalidated, accept the loss. Don't keep moving your stop loss farther away just because you hope the market will reverse.

3. Increasing leverage to recover losses

Leverage increases exposure and can accelerate losses. It doesn't guarantee faster recovery.

💡 My 3 Golden Trading Rules

1. Calculate your risk before entering.

2. Set your stop loss before opening the position.

3. Accept small losses instead of allowing them to become account-destroying losses.

🎯 Final Lesson

You don't need to become rich from one Bitcoin trade.

You need a repeatable strategy, patience, discipline, and capital protection.

Remember:

PROTECT YOUR CAPITAL FIRST. PROFITS COME SECOND.

A trader who manages risk has a better chance of staying in the market long enough to learn and improve.
