CZ: The Real Demand for Tokenized US Stocks Comes from Outside the US
On October 27, 2026, Binance founder CZ said in an interview with The Rollup founder Andy that demand for tokenized U.S. stocks primarily comes from people outside the United States who struggle to open U.S. brokerage accounts. He noted that in some countries with populations exceeding 100 million, the entire stock market’s daily trading volume is just $50 million, comparable to the volume handled by a single trader in New York. He believes companies in these markets could tokenize their shares to reach global investors and enable round-the-clock trading. Tokenization could also extend to assets that lack established trading venues, such as water, rare earth minerals and certain precious metals, providing them with trading access and liquidity.
