Ripple Wins Its US Bank Charter — and $XRP Jumps to $1.32
Ripple won final approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) on Monday, 26 October, to open Ripple National Trust Bank. CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced it the same day. The bank will manage the reserves behind Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and offer digital-asset custody for institutions. It will not take deposits or make loans like a normal bank.
What does it mean? After years of fighting regulators, Ripple now has a federally supervised bank of its own. But here is the honest part: the charter is about RLUSD reserves and custody, not about buying XRP — so it does not change how XRP itself works.
On my live chart this evening (about 9:25 PM PKT, Tuesday, 27 October 2026), $XRP is at $1.3217, up 2.42% in 24 hours, after trading between $1.2853 and $1.3292 today. Bitcoin, for comparison, is back above $80,000 at about $80,594.
Levels everyone is watching: support near $1.29 — today's low zone. If XRP holds above $1.29, buyers stay in control, with $1.25 as the deeper floor. Resistance is near $1.33 — today's high. A move above $1.33 would open the way toward $1.40, while a drop below $1.29 would cool the move off.
In simple words: big regulatory news, a real price jump — but the bank news alone does not make XRP go up forever.
Does Ripple's bank charter make you more confident about XRP long term, or do you think the price still needs to prove itself above $1.33 first?
