You've probably heard people say, "Halving is coming, price will go up!" But what does it actually mean?
What is Bitcoin Halving?
Roughly every four years, the reward miners receive for adding a new block to the Bitcoin blockchain is cut in half. This is built into Bitcoin's code, and no one can change it on a whim.
Why does it exist?
Bitcoin has a hard cap of 21 million coins. Halving slows down the creation of new coins over time, which makes Bitcoin scarce, similar to gold.
How can it affect the market?
When new supply slows down but demand stays the same or grows, prices can be pushed upward. Historically, Bitcoin has seen big moves in the months after halving events. However, past performance is never a guarantee. Market sentiment, global economy, and regulations all play a role too.
What should you do?
Don't buy just because of hype
Understand the supply and demand logic
Plan your entry and exit in advance
Never invest money you can't afford to lose
Final Thought
Halving is an important event, but it is only one piece of the puzzle. Smart investors look at the bigger picture, not just a single date on the calendar.
