Why is nobody talking about how much more expensive it just became to finance a Bitcoin buy?
A cheaper coin looks like an easy entry until the money behind that buy gets pricier. That is how people chase a dip, miss the real cost, and still get stuck not knowing when the bid actually runs out.
Strive wants $500M through a new preferred paying 15% a year, all of it aimed at stacking more $BTC . In 2025, Strategy's first preferreds launched around 8-10%. Strive's SATA already pays 13%, and the new SATS paper is asking a fixed 15%. Over about a year, the price of financing a Bitcoin treasury rose almost twice as fast as Bitcoin did.
$BTC is still roughly 34% under its $126K peak, while the 10-year U.S. Treasury pays about 5.3%. Before you treat another corporate stack as a bullish signal, compare that coupon with the risk-free rate and with how far the coin sits from the high. The treasury bid only helps you if the financing is getting cheaper, not if you are paying nearly three times Treasuries to buy an asset still well off its peak.
If the cost of stacking keeps climbing while price stays this far down, who is actually getting paid?
