On many blockchains, trades can be seen before they go through. Aptos now lets you hide the details until the order is locked in.
On October 12, Aptos said its encrypted mempool is live on mainnet. Normally, pending trades can be read, so bots can spot a big one and jump in front of it. With this feature, you can choose to encrypt a transaction. Validators put it in order without seeing what it does, then decrypt it together to run it.
It does not make you anonymous. Your wallet address and fee stay visible. Encrypted transactions also need twice the normal minimum gas price. And it is opt-in, so wallets and apps have to support it. Petra does.
I would not call it a full fix for front-running yet. The speed numbers so far come from Aptos's own tests, so real use matters.
$APT was about $0.84 on Binance spot, up about 0.1% in the last 24 hours. I can't say this news moved it.
