Christa Pike, who survived a botched lethal injection attempt 10 days ago, has been discharged from a Nashville hospital and returned to Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center, Tennessee's primary women's prison.
Pike spent 30 years on death row for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old classmate Colleen Slemmer in Knoxville. On Sept. 30, she survived two doses of pentobarbital — marking the second failed execution in Tennessee this year.
Her lawyers say she's walking with assistance but still experiencing concentration and memory issues. She continues receiving medical care at the prison.
