Money You Can Actually Spend 💳

Shielded money has existed for years and the complaint has always been the same, which is that you can hold it and barely use it.

Umbra opened its confidential wallet to the public on $SOL in March, built on Arcium ($ARX ), so funds can be held in shielded form and sent and swapped from there.

Stealf is building the spending half, described on Arcium's ecosystem page as a confidential financial system for payments and stablecoins, which is a different job from holding.

The split matters because people do not want a vault. They want a balance that does not announce itself and a way to pay for something without that payment publishing the rest of the wallet behind it.

Underneath both, the work runs across a cluster of nodes as fragments, no single node holds a readable copy of what it is handling, and the correct result still comes back.

Solana records the outcome the way it records everything else, so an explorer still shows activity and the apps stay auditable.

Mainnet Alpha has run since February 2, and C-SPL, which seals the amount inside an ordinary token transfer, has not shipped yet.

Permissionless money was the first product and it took a decade, and money you can spend without publishing a statement is the one being built now.
