Altseason Index is touching the yearly high. Which top 100 alts are worth holding into 2027?

The Altcoin Season Index is back around the 60s, showing that more large-cap altcoins are starting to outperform Bitcoin.

That’s a good sign for the market, but it’s not full altseason yet. The index needs to reach 75 before the market officially enters altcoin season.

The part that matters now is whether this strength continues.

If capital keeps rotating from BTC into established altcoins, I’d rather focus on projects that already have liquidity, strong ecosystems and real market demand instead of chasing every coin that starts moving.

My main picks for a longer-term 2027 basket would be:

ETH — still the strongest core altcoin position.

SOL — higher beta and one of the strongest large-cap ecosystems when risk appetite returns.

LINK — a key infrastructure play with exposure to the broader on-chain and tokenization narrative.

There are also higher-risk momentum plays like $ZEC, but after a major move, the risk of buying into extended price action becomes much higher.

So if I had to choose one top-100 altcoin to hold into 2027, ETH would be my pick.

For a broader basket, ETH + SOL + LINK gives a mix of core exposure, higher beta and infrastructure.

The next level to watch is 75 on the Altseason Index. If the index breaks above that level while $BTC remains stable and liquidity continues flowing into alts, that would be a much stronger signal that the rotation is becoming broader.

Until then, confirmation matters more than chasing the first pump.
