Zcash Speeds Up as NU7 Hits Public Testnet $ZEC is up ~30% over the past month and ~200% in 90 days, even after pulling back from its late-September highs. Trader interest has stayed strong - but now the network has another update to watch. Zcash activated its NU7 upgrade on public testnet ahead of schedule, cutting the target time between blocks from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. Mainnet target: November 5 NU7 also introduces a new fee mechanism: miners receive 40% of transaction fees, while 60% goes into a reserve designed to support future mining rewards. The upgrade will also disable transactions using Zcash’s old Sprout system. Developers plan to review the testnet results on October 20 before making the final mainnet decision.
