Sui Dollar Lands on Two Major Exchanges

Two of the crypto industry's better-known centralised exchanges, @Krakenfx and @Bullish, have added Sui Network's native stablecoin, Sui Dollar ($USDsui), to their platforms. The listings mark a meaningful step in the token's push beyond on-chain DeFi applications and into mainstream exchange infrastructure.

$USDsui is issued by Bridge, a subsidiary of Stripe, using Bridge's Open Issuance platform. It went live on the Sui mainnet on March 4, 2026, initially available through Sui wallets and decentralised finance applications including Bluefin, Cetus and Turbos Finance. The stablecoin is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar and backed by short-term US Treasury bills and other dollar-denominated reserve assets.

A notable feature of its economic design is that yield generated from those reserves is redirected back into the Sui ecosystem through $SUI buybacks and DeFi liquidity incentives, rather than retained entirely by the issuer.

Built for Institutional Payments and Gasless Transfers

The token was built with specific institutional use cases in mind. According to the official Sui Foundation announcement, $USDsui offers compliance-ready rails for institutions and developers, with direct access to Sui's liquidity layer and support for cross-border payments, remittances, and peer-to-peer transfers.

A key technical feature is its gasless transaction model. As a native coin deployed on Sui's object-oriented execution layer, $USDsui uses a sponsorship transaction design that allows users to move dollars on-chain without needing to hold or spend any $SUI tokens to cover blockchain execution fees. This removes a common friction point for institutional users and newcomers who would otherwise need a separate gas token to settle transfers.

The Stripe connection adds institutional weight to the project. Bridge was acquired by Stripe for $1.1 billion in February 2025, giving the payments giant a foothold in stablecoin issuance infrastructure. For $USDsui, that backing signals enterprise-grade standards rather than a purely crypto-native experiment.

Circulating supply currently sits at approximately 78.5 to 78.85 million tokens, with the stablecoin holding its $1.00 peg. On Sui itself, $USDsui ranks as the second-largest stablecoin on the chain, behind USDC. The broader Sui network processed more than $111 billion in stablecoin transfers in January 2026 alone, reflecting strong underlying demand for dollar liquidity on the chain.
