Sui Network has removed 3,023 fake accounts, scam websites and phishing threats across multiple online platforms, the latest result of its ongoing security partnership with ChainPatrol.
A Broad Takedown Operation
Sui has removed 3,023 impersonation and phishing threats across a range of online platforms through its partnership with ChainPatrol, a security firm that hunts down fake accounts and scam sites. The takedowns cover threats targeting projects across the Sui ecosystem, from counterfeit social media profiles to fraudulent websites designed to drain user funds.
Monitoring covers the web, X, Discord and Telegram, as well as app stores and digital wallets. ChainPatrol uses AI and image recognition to scale impersonation detection and takedowns across the entire ecosystem. Once a threat is confirmed, confirmed phishing domains are added to a blocklist within minutes of approval, with warnings reaching end users through integrations with crypto wallets, browsers, and security threat-intelligence feeds.
As of mid-November 2025, ChainPatrol had blocked 842 unique threats tied to Sui-related projects across more than 11 platforms. The latest tally of 3,023 threats is more than three times that mid-November figure.
Part of a $10 Million Security Push
Sui launched a $10 million Ecosystem Security Expansion Initiative, with ChainPatrol playing a central role by providing proactive, real-time protection for over 30 projects in the Sui ecosystem.
The broader initiative has its roots in a high-profile incident earlier in 2025. Sui Network announced a $10 million investment into ecosystem-wide security improvements following a $223 million exploit targeting Cetus Protocol, a decentralized exchange built on Sui. The initiative includes funding for smart contract audits, bug bounty programs, formal verification tools, and collaboration with developers to reinforce dApp security.
The Sui Foundation's multi-year security expansion program aims to fundamentally strengthen the blockchain's infrastructure and protect both developers and users across the ecosystem. The ChainPatrol partnership represents the user-facing layer of that effort, targeting the social engineering and impersonation attacks that often serve as the entry point for broader fraud.
