đš BITCOIN BREAKS $85,000 â BUT WHAT REALLY TRIGGERED THE MOVE? âżđ
Bitcoin suddenly surged above $85,000 after the latest U.S. inflation data came in softer than expected. But the bigger story isnât just the price â itâs what the data could mean for Fed policy, interest rates, and liquidity.
đ„ WHAT HAPPENED?
The latest PCE inflation data surprised markets:
âą đ PCE Inflation: 3.4% vs 3.7% expected
âą đ Core PCE: 3.0% vs 3.3% expected
âą đ Monthly Core PCE: 0.2% vs 0.3% expected
In simple terms: inflation is still high, but it came in cooler than many expected.
đĄ WHY DID BTC REACT?
Softer inflation can reduce pressure for aggressive interest-rate hikes.
After the report, expectations for another Fed hike in October dropped to around 35%. At the same time, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield slipped from roughly 5.234% to 5.203%.
That gave risk assets â including Bitcoin â some breathing room.
⥠THEN BTC EXPLODED
Bitcoin pushed from the $83Kâ$84K zone to a session high of approximately $85,598.94.
More than $75 million in short positions were reportedly liquidated within about an hour.
That created a familiar crypto reaction:
BTC rises â shorts get liquidated â forced buying increases â momentum accelerates.
But thereâs an important catch⊠đ
đ THE MOVE DIDNâT FULLY HOLD
Bitcoin pulled back and settled closer to $84K.
And despite the cooler inflation reading, core inflation remains above the Fedâs 2% target. Strong consumer spending could also keep inflationary pressure alive.
So one softer inflation report doesnât automatically change the entire macro picture.
đ WHAT IâM WATCHING NEXT
âą Can BTC reclaim and hold the $87K area?
âą What will the upcoming jobs report reveal?
âą Will the Fed actually avoid another rate hike?
âą Can Bitcoin turn this bounce into a sustained breakout?
đ Bottom line:
Todayâs move shows how strongly Bitcoin can react to macroeconomic data. But the next major confirmation will likely come from inflation, jobs data, Treasury yields, and Fed policy expectations.
$85K was the reaction. Now the real questio
