One of the clearest developments behind the weakness is a change in institutional flows. Grayscaleâs Zcash-focused ZCSH ETF recorded more than $8 million in outflows on Monday, after previously attracting substantial capital during ZECâs explosive September rally. That matters because the ETF had become an important source of institutional exposure to Zcash. Earlier in September, ZCSH had accumulated more than $233 million in inflows since its launch, showing how dramatically sentiment had shifted before the recent reversal.
There is also a broader market component. It decline happened while Bitcoin and other risk assets were under pressure from elevated Treasury yields, rising oil prices and renewed expectations around Federal Reserve rate hikes.
