đšđš $350 MILLION JUST VANISHED FROM BITGET?! đł
Have you heard about this?
Crypto exchange Bitget has confirmed a security breach involving approximately $351.6 MILLION in assets. đ°
The affected assets reportedly included:
đŽ $XRP â ~$157.5M
đŽ $ETH â ~$85.8M
đŽ $USDT / $USDC
đŽ $BNB, $AVAX and others
But here's where it gets even more interesting⊠đ
Bitget says the attackers did NOT obtain its private keys.
Instead, the CEO said a critical backend system in the wallet infrastructure was compromised, allowing attackers to manipulate transaction data and trigger the authorization process.
đ°đ” And who could be behind it?
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen says a North Korean group is âvery likelyâ responsible.
Some blockchain investigators have pointed toward Lazarus/TraderTraitor, but the attribution is not yet officially confirmed.
đĄïž Bitget says its User Protection Fund holds more than $464M, which it says can cover the loss.
Now the BIG question:
Will this $350M hack shake confidence in centralized exchanges⊠or will the market simply move on? đ
And remember: this is NOT the same as the recent fake-token/flash-token exploits being discussed elsewhere.
â ïž Not financial advice. DYOR.
