$Bitcoin Bitget Hit by $351.6M Security Breach — But There’s a Bigger Lesson
Bitget has confirmed approximately $351.6M in unauthorized transfers from parts of its hot/warm wallet infrastructure.
The latest update is even more interesting: Bitget says attackers compromised a backend wallet system and spoofed transaction data — while a private-key compromise has reportedly been ruled out.

The exchange says its $464M+ Protection Fund is sufficient to cover the affected amount, while cold wallets remain secure. Withdrawals are still suspended during the security review.

💡 The real lesson for crypto users:
An exchange’s security isn't only about protecting private keys. Backend authorization, wallet architecture, withdrawal controls and transparent reserves matter just as much.
For now, the incident is still under investigation — so claims about who was behind the attack should be treated as unconfirmed.
$351M+ is a huge number. But the bigger question is: how strong are an exchange's security controls when something goes wrong? 👀
