What Happens to Crypto Exchanges If the CLARITY Act Becomes Law?
🚨 CLARITY Act: Not Law Yet
The US crypto bill failed a Senate cloture vote 49–50 on Sept 15, 2026 (60 needed).
If it passes, exchanges would:
Register with the CFTC as digital commodity exchangesSegregate customer funds with a qualified custodianList only tokens with compliant issuer disclosuresOffer staking as opt-in only
For now, nothing changes for traders. The SEC and CFTC are writing rules on their own.
