Zcash is moving closer to one of its most important network upgrades of 2026.

Developers and ecosystem teams have agreed on a timeline for NU7, with Testnet activation scheduled for October 6 and Mainnet targeted for November 5. A final Mainnet activation decision is expected on October 20 after the Testnet period is evaluated. 👀

NU7 is planned to reduce Zcash’s block target spacing from 75 seconds to just 25 seconds.
