Privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet Sparrow Wallet has released version 2.5.4 after an AI-assisted review of its code identified multiple issues. Developer Craig Raw said the AI review produced most of the fixes included in the update, although the specific AI models used were not disclosed.
The review was partly motivated by the growing ability of AI models to search large codebases for potential exploits. Sparrow’s update includes fixes related to transaction verification, hardware wallet security, secret handling and privacy features. The official download page lists version 2.5.4 as signed and available for users.
Importantly, Raw said the identified issues did not appear likely to put users’ funds at risk, and there is no public evidence that these Sparrow vulnerabilities were exploited.
