President Donald Trump has intensified his trade agenda, announcing a proposed 50% tariff on European Union imports starting June 1, 2025, citing stalled negotiations and accusing the EU of being “very difficult to deal with.” The move, posted on Truth Social, sent global markets into a tailspin, with stocks dropping significantly on both sides of the Atlantic.
