A major stock-market index is entering the blockchain investment space through a new tokenized fund.

Janus Henderson is launching JQQQ, a fund designed to track the Nasdaq-100 Index, using technology provided by Centrifuge.

The fund is set to operate on the Stellar blockchain and is initially available to eligible professional investors outside the United States.

The minimum investment is $100,000.

Why is this development important?

The Nasdaq-100 tracks 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock market. It includes major technology businesses, making it an important benchmark for investors following the technology sector.

By bringing a licensed index-tracking fund onto blockchain infrastructure, this launch demonstrates how tokenization is expanding beyond crypto-native assets into traditional investment products.

But there is an important distinction: a tokenized fund is not the same as directly owning every stock in the index, and this offering is not open to every retail investor.

For the crypto industry, the development highlights a growing area to watch: the use of public blockchains to support regulated financial products.
