Gold holds above $4,000 as oil cools ahead of the Fed

Spot gold closed Monday at $4,016.20, up 0.53%, recovering some of last week’s losses. Softer oil prices—Brent at $115.81 and WTI near $102—helped ease inflation concerns. Silver edged up 0.09% to $53.85 after testing lower levels.

Both metals remain sensitive to Treasury yields, the dollar and rate expectations. Markets are watching Tuesday’s durable goods, consumer confidence and new-home sales data, followed by Wednesday’s Fed decision and Chair Warsh’s press conference. A pause is expected, but the outlook for further tightening remains in focus.

Levels to watch:
🥇Gold: Resistance at $4,032 and $4,075; support at $3,963 and $3,946.
🥈Silver: Resistance at $54.53 and $55.77; support at $53.46 and $52.41.

With key data and the Fed decision ahead, it may be worth waiting for confirmation at these levels.
