🚨 CRITICAL BITCOIN WALLET FLAW! USER LOSS REPORTED!
This isn’t about another price crash.
It’s a wallet security alert!
On October 24, Bitcoin wallet Electrum urgently released version 4.8.3.
⚠️ Older versions contain a high-severity vulnerability!
Developers confirmed:
🔴 2 related user reports received
💸 1 user reported losing funds
🛡️ Version 4.8.3 fixes the vulnerability
What went wrong?
A malicious server could manipulate unconfirmed transaction history, tricking users into sending BTC to an attacker when manually increasing transaction fees!
Four important signals 👇
🔐 ① Secure private keys don’t guarantee a secure transaction process
⚠️ ② Malicious servers can become attack vectors
💻 ③ Wallet software needs timely security updates
👀 ④ Checking only the last few address characters isn’t enough
Here’s the real question:
NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR COINS.
BUT ARE YOUR KEYS ENOUGH?
CORE VARIABLES:
WALLET SECURITY + TRANSACTION VERIFICATION
What I’m watching:
👀 Additional exploitation reports
👀 Wallet patches and software updates
👀 Whether reported user losses increase
👀 Security improvements across BTC wallets
Important: The Bitcoin blockchain itself has NOT been compromised!
There’s also no verified direct price impact on BTC, ETH or BNB.
If you use Electrum, update through its official website and verify complete destination addresses!
👇 What’s your take?
🟢 SELF-CUSTODY: Controlling your keys matters most
🔴 SECURITY FIRST: Strong protection comes first
