đš ETHEREUM GLAMSTERDAM UPGRADE DELAYED
Ethereum developers have pushed back the Glamsterdam hard fork on the Hoodi testnet after security researchers raised concerns over EIP-8037 and its changes to gas accounting.
The issue is bigger than a simple testing delay. â ïž
If the new gas mechanics interact unexpectedly with existing smart contracts, failed transactions could behave differently than they do today â creating potential compatibility and security risks.
Developers are now taking a step back to review the implementation before moving forward.
đ No new Hoodi testnet date has been announced yet.
For Ethereum, delaying an upgrade to fix a potential weakness is far better than rushing a major network change into production.
Security first. Mainnet later. đ
