Have you noticed that Bitcoin can rally while the rest of your portfolio just sits there?

Traders keep FOMO-buying alts on the first green candle, then watch those positions stall or dump the moment the market turns. Missing the exit hurts more than missing the entry when alts are the ones taking the real damage.

Wintermute's latest read pushes back on the idea that alts simply follow $BTC . Selling in altcoins is getting stronger, and money is moving into Bitcoin and Ethereum instead. Over the last week, altcoins lost 5.69% on average.

That gap matters for how you trade the next move. They think even a Bitcoin rally may not pull alts out of this range. If the broader market corrects, alts are likely to fall harder than $BTC or $ETH .

So treat strength as something you have to see, not something you assume. Keep most of the risk in Bitcoin and Ethereum, only add an alt that is holding its range while the majors are flat, and decide the level where you are out before the next red day. Hope is not a position when the weaker coins are already being sold.

Anyone else seeing this, or do you still think alts catch up from here?
