PancakeSwap's The Flip Proposal Enters Governance Vote With CAKE Supply Conditions
PancakeSwap’s The Flip proposal has entered a governance vote and includes conditions for CAKE supply. According to ChainCatcher, it would direct 88% of trading fees from v3 and Infinity pools to liquidity providers and allocate the remaining 12% to the protocol treasury, while leaving v2’s fee structure unchanged.
The proposal would cut daily CAKE emissions from 22,500 to 7,000, a reduction of about 69%, lowering newly minted tokens by approximately 5.66 million per year. The remaining 7,000 CAKE issued daily would go to Pantry, an ecosystem growth fund that The Kitchen team could use for marketing, partnerships and initial liquidity for new pools.
If approved, implementation would begin within two weeks of the vote and run from November 2026 through the end of January 2027, with rollout details announced for each chain. The proposal builds on the Tokenomics 3 framework approved in April 2025, which targets a roughly 20% reduction in supply by 2030. PancakeSwap said supply has fallen 11.5% over the past 18 months.
