#nearopensvotetocutannualissuanceto1.6% 🚨 NEAR SUGGESTS 1.6% INFLATION. GOOD FOR SUPPLY OR LOWER STAKING REWARDS?

NEAR Protocol’s plan to change how tokens are issued could change the way the supply looks. A governance idea called HSP-029 wants to make the yearly creation of tokens go down from 2.5% to 1.6% but there is a cost.

📉 What changes if it gets approved?

• 24-month change: Inflation would go down slowly instead of all at once.

• Less tokens: The plan says there would be 11.8 million fewer NEAR tokens created over two years.

• Staking effect: At the expected 42.71% of people staking the yearly return could drop from 5.27% to 3.37%.

• Delay in action: A 90-day time period is suggested before the changes start then the network needs an update.

🔥 What does this mean for $NEAR ?

Positive view: Less new tokens being made could make people think there is supply and that could help existing holders.

Negative view: Less money for staking could make some people not want to stake less new tokens alone may not make the price go up.

The main thing is if people want the token more if the network is used more and if the group around it grows faster than the supply that is still being made. Traders need to pay attention to the vote and how it actually happens. Not the news.

Do you think you would support inflation even if it means less money from staking?

This is my thoughts, not financial advice.
