$ZEC is ~$1,262 at 11:23 ICT Oct 21 (OKX and Binance spot, +10% in 24h). It led the large caps yesterday and is now pressing the $1,284–1,296 ceiling. Here is my plan without chasing.

🔥 What's moving it

• NU7 is planned, not final. Zcash node developers say the NU7 mainnet activation height is being set to block 3,543,405 (~Nov 5) in the final ZIP 259 changes, and a matching code change is open in the Zebra node. The official ZIP page still shows "TBD" until it merges, so treat Nov 5 as the plan, not a done deal.

• What NU7 does: target block time drops from 75s to 25s (about 3x faster confirmations). It has run on public testnet since Oct 4.

• The catch: NU7 retires the old Sprout pool. Funds left there must be moved before activation.

• Sector + market: privacy coins are bid. Monero was up ~15% over 7 days as of Oct 20. On Oct 20, BTC got back above $83K and crypto ETFs took in $526.7M.

📊 Daily (1D)

Big picture: ZEC topped at $1,697 on Sept 26, then bled ~38% to $1,048.53 (Oct 18 low).

Oct 20: $1,152 → $1,257 (+9.1%). First daily close above the daily EMA20 (~$1,237) since Sept 30, on ~$108M volume, about 1.9x the 20-day average.

The daily EMA50 (~$1,188) held as the floor of this whole range. Wilder RSI(14) ~51: neutral, room to run.

Weak spot: the daily EMA20 is still sloping down, and $1,284–1,296 has capped every bounce since Oct 14.

⏱️ 4H

The breakout candle came at 19:00 ICT Oct 20: $1,138 → $1,191 on the biggest 4H volume in weeks.

Then two pushes into $1,284–1,296: 03:00 ICT high $1,283.94, 07:00 ICT wick to $1,296.32. Both sold.

Breakout box: $1,234–1,296. Wilder RSI(14) ~65, warm but not overbought. 4H EMA20/50 sit way below at ~$1,173–1,182.

Best retest zone: $1,234–1,252, where the daily EMA20, the Oct 20 breakout high ($1,234) and today's low ($1,251.59) stack.

🎯 Bull / bear levels

• Bid: $1,234–1,252

• Add: $1,184–1,192 (Oct 20 breakout base + daily EMA50)

• TP1: $1,284–1,296 (trim, only ~0.6–0.7R from $1,243)

• TP2: $1,349–1,369 (Oct 12 high + early Oct highs, ~1.5–1.7R; ~2.9–3.4R if the add fills)

• Out: 4H close below $1,175 (under S2 and the 4H EMAs)

• Bull trigger: a 4H close above $1,296 flips the ceiling and opens $1,349–1,369.

• Bear case: lose $1,175 and the $1,048–1,077 Oct 18 lows are back in play.

Chasing from ~$1,262 gives only ~0.2–0.4R to TP1. Not worth it.

💭 My take

NU7 is a planned catalyst, but upgrade news cuts both ways. Traders bought ahead of the decision, and that same "sell the news" crowd sits right at $1,296. So I'd rather get filled on a retest of $1,234–1,252 than buy the third tap of resistance. If it never dips, I wait for a 4H close above $1,296 and re-plan. My plan is wrong below $1,175.

Where are you bidding $ZEC : the $1,234 retest, the $1,188 daily EMA50, or only after $1,296 breaks? 👇
