One of the year's biggest DeFi hacks just went live again.
The wallets tied to the Drift Protocol exploit have resumed moving funds after two months of quiet. Trackers spotted about 25,700 $ETH (~$61.6M) flowing into Tornado Cash Monday in two hours — first movement since late summer.
Lookonchain's tally says the same wallet group still controls around 81,864 ETH (~$195M). Earlier snapshots differ — Onchain Lens ~13,400 ETH, PeckShield ~21,300 ETH — because each was captured at a different point in the sweep. Exact figures are tracker-reported.
Why it matters: the April 1 attack took ~$285M from the Solana perps venue, and Mandiant attributed it to a North Korea-linked group. With ~$195M able to move at any moment, every laundering round is a live overhang. Drift's DFX recovery pool, opened Oct 1, holds barely $3.1M against nearly $300M in claims.
