Been thinking about this a lot lately: we're all excited about AI agents doing stuff for us, but nobody really talks about how they're supposed to pay for anything. Giving an agent your wallet keys feels insane to me. I've been burned enough times in this space to know that "just trust the bot" isn't a plan.
That's why Kite caught my attention. It's an EVM-compatible L1 built specifically for agents to transact, and the part I actually like is the identity setup. Users, agents, and sessions are separated, so if one session goes sideways it doesn't take everything with it. That's the kind of boring security thinking I want to see, honestly.
The token rollout is staged too. First phase is ecosystem participation and incentives, and staking, governance, and fees come later. Fine by me, though I've seen plenty of "phase two" promises quietly disappear, so I'm watching whether that second phase actually ships.
My doubt is simple: does real demand for agent payments show up soon enough, or are we early to a problem that mostly exists on slide decks? Could be a while. Could also be one of those things that feels obvious in hindsight.
Not financial advice, just where my head's at. Curious if anyone here has actually tried building with it, and what broke first?
