Ethereum ETFs just had a rougher week than Bitcoin ETFs, and the gap is worth a closer look.
US spot $ETH ETFs saw about $320M in net outflows from Oct 12 to 16, according to Farside data. BlackRock's ETHA alone made up roughly $299M of that. Spot $BTC ETFs lost around $228M over the same five sessions.
Friday kept the trend going: BTC ETFs shed $82.4M and ETH ETFs $69.7M.
What stands out to me is how persistent it's been. Since Oct 1, ETH ETFs have posted outflows in 11 of 12 trading sessions, totaling about $955M. BTC ETFs are down roughly $615M over the same stretch.
The backdrop isn't helping either. BTC briefly slipped below $80K on Thursday, its lowest level since mid-September, and US inflation came in hotter in September at 3.7% year over year, up from 3.4%.
None of this tells us where prices go next. ETF flows can flip fast, and one bad week isn't a verdict on either asset. But it does show where institutional money is leaning right now.
